Community Action Network (’82-’84) - NGO(CBO) Capacity Building, Consumer Advocacy and Civil Rights

Field Manager, fundraiser and canvasser, including regional management and training consulting in the campaign offices of Community Action Network organizations in nine major cities of five east coast states. Performed staff development and training activities, and assisted with administrative capacity building for this network of consumer advocacy and civil rights organizations including: Brown Lung Association of North Carolina, New York Community Action Network, New York Public Interest Research Group, North Carolina Public Interest Research Group, Ohio Public Interest Campaign, Pennsylvania Public Interest Campaign, and Virginia Action. Issues included worker's rights, public utility regulation and consumer advocacy, voter's rights, environmental issues, and electoral work.
